Understanding YouTube
Monetization
YouTube monetization allows content creators
to earn money from their videos through the YouTube Partner Program (YPP). Once accepted into the program, creators can
earn revenue from ads displayed on their content, channel
memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers, YouTube Premium
revenue sharing, and more. Our YouTube monetization checker helps you instantly verify if any channel has been accepted
into YPP.
YouTube monetization is a key milestone for every
content creator. Whether you're just starting out or
looking to analyze competitor channels,
understanding
channel monetization status gives you
valuable insights into the YouTube ecosystem and potential
earnings.
YouTube Partner
Program Requirements
To qualify for the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) and start earning money through YouTube monetization, your channel must meet all of the following
criteria:
-
At least 1,000 subscribers on your
channel
- 4,000 valid public watch hours in
the last 12 months
-
OR 10 million valid public Shorts views in the last 90 days
-
Comply with all YouTube monetization policies and community guidelines
-
Live in a country or region where the YouTube Partner Program is available
-
Have no active Community Guidelines strikes on
your channel
-
Have 2-step verification enabled
on your Google account
-
Have an AdSense account linked to
your YouTube channel
You can track your progress toward these
requirements in YouTube Studio
under the Monetization tab. Or use our free monetization checker to quickly verify any channel's status.
YouTube Shorts Monetization
YouTube Shorts monetization has separate
requirements from regular long-form videos. To monetize
through Shorts, creators need 10 million valid Shorts views in the last 90 days instead of the traditional 4,000
watch hours.
Since the introduction of ad revenue sharing for
Shorts creators, YouTube Shorts has become a
powerful way to earn money on YouTube. Shorts creators earn through the Shorts ad
revenue sharing program, where ads displayed between
Shorts in the feed generate revenue that is pooled
and distributed among eligible creators.
Our channel monetization checker analyzes
both regular video and
YouTube Shorts monetization signals,
giving you a complete picture of any channel's earning
status.
