What Is YouTube Restricted Mode?
YouTube Restricted Mode is an optional content filter that hides videos flagged as potentially mature or inappropriate. It is different from region restrictions - Restricted Mode filters content based on the viewer's settings, not the video's geographic availability. Restricted Mode is commonly enabled on school networks, library computers, and family devices.
When Restricted Mode is on, comments are hidden, playlists may be limited, and videos with mature themes are filtered out. The mode does not block videos based on country - it filters based on content ratings.

Restricted Mode can be turned off through your YouTube account settings. Note: if Restricted Mode is locked by a network administrator (school, workplace), you cannot turn it off without contacting your IT department.

YouTube Age Restriction - What It Means
YouTube age restriction is applied to videos with mature content including violence, adult themes, or explicit language. Age-restricted videos require viewers to be signed in and 18 years or older to watch. Key limitations of age-restricted videos:

- Do not appear in search results for logged-out users
