Use the category tabs above to filter trending YouTube videos by: All Trending (top 50 across all genres), Trending Music (top music videos in the US right now), Trending Gaming (hottest gaming videos today), or Trending Movies (top movie trailers and clips).
Did YouTube Remove the Trending Page?
Yes - YouTube removed the public Trending tab in June 2023. The old youtube.com/feed/trending page no longer exists. YouTube replaced it with a more personalized "Explore" tab and moved trend data inside YouTube Studio for creators.
However, YouTube's trending data still exists through the YouTube Data API's mostPopular chart endpoint. That's exactly what powers this tool. Every time you load this page, we make a fresh API call and return the current top 50 trending videos in the US - the same data YouTube uses internally, just without the public interface.
Where did the YouTube trending page go? Removed June 2023 and replaced with YouTube Studio's Charts section. Use this tool to see trending videos instead.
What happened to trending on YouTube? YouTube retired the public trending feed and shifted focus to personalized recommendations. The underlying trending data still exists via API.
How to find trending videos on YouTube now? Use this tool - it queries YouTube's API directly. Alternatively: youtube.com/feed/explore shows trending topics, and charts.youtube.com shows music trends.

Why Is YouTube Shorts Trending?
YouTube Shorts has been one of the platform's fastest-growing features since its US-wide rollout in 2021. Several factors explain why Shorts content consistently trends in the United States:
- Algorithm priority - YouTube actively promotes Shorts in the main feed, the dedicated Shorts shelf, and search results, giving Short creators disproportionate organic reach compared to long-form videos.
- Viral audio crossover - Songs trending on YouTube Shorts often appear in the main YouTube trending page as "songs trending on YouTube Shorts" attract users who search for the full version.
- Creator incentives - YouTube's Shorts monetization program incentivizes major creators to post Short-form content, bringing their existing audiences to the format and driving trend velocity.
- Gen Z consumption habits - Younger US viewers prefer short-form content, and YouTube's trending algorithm reflects their dominant watch patterns. Trending YouTube Shorts hashtags often originate from challenges that spread across Gen Alpha and Gen Z.
